Kensington, CA — Let’s Go Learn, a leader in educational assessment and personalized learning solutions, announced the release of a new supplemental brief from the National Center on Intensive Intervention (NCII) focusing on the company’s flagship product, Diagnostic Online Reading Assessment (DORA). The brief serves as an official resource supplementing NCII’s Academic Screening Tools Chart, offering state and local education agencies actionable data to evaluate DORA’s effectiveness in identifying students at risk for reading difficulties, including dyslexia.

As state-level dyslexia legislation increasingly mandates specific reading skill assessments for kindergarten through Grade 3, educational leaders face a shortage of publicly available, high-quality evidence regarding specific assessment subtests. The NCII brief directly addresses this need by providing comprehensive classification accuracy and correlational validity evidence for DORA’s core subtests.

Let’s Go Learn’s DORA Dyslexia Screener (DORA DS) is a streamlined version of DORA designed for fast K-2 screening. NCII’s review applies to the underlying DORA subtests rather than a separate certification of DORA DS. However, it provides independent evidence supporting key reading skills used within the DORA screening framework. A stand alone review of dyslexia screener measures is not yet available by NCII. However, when that process opens, Let’s Go Learn plans to submit its DORA DS measure for review.

NCII Supplemental Dyslexia Screening Brief

“State and district leaders need rigorous, trustworthy evidence when selecting early literacy screening tools to comply with legislative mandates and protect vulnerable readers,” said Richard Capone, CEO and co-founder at Let’s Go Learn. “This supplemental brief from NCII offers educators clear, independent data showing how DORA’s subtests pinpoint specific reading risks early, helping schools take immediate, targeted action.”

The NCII brief provides a framework for district administrators and state education staff to:

  • Evaluate Key Literacy Subtests: Align required early reading skills—such as phonemic awareness, decoding, and comprehension—with DORA’s specialized subtests using NCII’s standardized evidence ratings.
  • Ensure Legislative Compliance: Support state and local mandates requiring early literacy and dyslexia screening in early elementary grades.
  • Inform Intervention Planning: Utilize screening data alongside comprehensive data sources to build structured, multi-tiered intervention plans for struggling readers.

Education agencies adopting or reviewing screening tools can access the DORA brief alongside the NCII Academic Screening Tools Chart to guide their multi-step tool selection and implementation process.
